More recent years have seen the uprising of chocolate box chalets, several restaurants, a supermarket and an upbeat bar with live music. Lying just 5 minutes drive from the popular centre of Méribel, it’s the perfect location for those looking for a more tranquil spot, away from the hustle and bustle of a large resort, but still offering easy access to the vast ski area. The Trois Vallées is one of the largest linked ski areas in the world, made up of 600km of terrain across 321 pistes. Whether skier or snowboarder, beginner or advanced, the choice is endless - you’ll find tree skiing, cross country skiing, numerous hiking trails, huge powder bowls, beginner slopes that are rated top ten in the world, a network of 200 ski lifts and two of the best snowboard parks in Europe.

Aside from the skiing or boarding on offer in the 3 valleys, there’s plenty of alternative activity to be had in the larger resort of Méribel. The very impressive “Parc Olympic “Centre in is home to a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, climbing wall, spa, ice skating rink and a kids club. There is an independent cinema with numerous daily showings in English, ten pin bowling, a superb array of shops and too many bars and restaurants to mention - many of which are gourmet and sporting a Michelin star.
