Val-d'Isère Ski Resort
As one of the most well-loved ski resorts in the world, Val d’Isere promises to offer you an unforgettable ski break. Standing at an impressive 1850m at the end of the Tarentaise Valley, high-altitude skiing is always guaranteed when staying in this part of the French Alps. Val d’Isere is also linked to Tignes to form the popular Espace Killy ski area.
This resort has been delighting skiers and snowboarders since as far back as the 1930s. Val d’Isere was developed and made more attractive during the run up to the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics and is now a modern and lively ski holiday destination.
The Solaise gondola has recently replaced the Solaise Express and is the newest addition to this resort, boasting heated seats and Wi-Fi. It can carry up to 10 passengers at a time and 3,600 passengers per hour, meaning you’ll never have to wait long for a 7-minute ride up to 2550m. At the top of the gondola, you can also find beginner pistes and secluded areas for children and adults.
With 150 runs of all levels, 300km of pistes and around 90 lifts, it’s no wonder Val d’Isere is such a popular choice for beginners and intermediates from across the globe. This resort really is dedicated to all aspects of skiing and snowboarding more than anywhere else in the whole of Europe.
