La Rosiere Ski Resort
The friendly resort of La Rosiere is a peaceful ski location which is known for attracting plenty of sunshine. At 1850m, it’s also a high altitude resort with excellent snow conditions and a fantastic selection of runs down a very wide slope. La Roserie is also linked to La Thuile in Italy, allowing for easy access to 150 kilometres of ski runs in the very impressive Espace San Barnardo ski area.
La Rosiere was largely developed in the 1950s and boasts beautiful mountainside architecture, untouched forests and quaint villages, as well as stunning Alpine scenery. Situated in the heart of the Haute-Tarentaise region of the French Alps and between Mont Blanc and its surrounding valleys, this resort is perfect for an authentic ski holiday.
There are also two areas that make up the resort including La Rosiere 1850 and Les Eucherts, both of which are popular for their own distinct atmospheres. The entire area features traditional style chalets, a few shops, some great restaurants and a small choice of bars. Most of the chalets are very close to Les Eucherts to offer ski-in and ski-out convenience.
One of the best things about staying in La Rosiere is the fabulous skiing opportunities in not just the French side (south facing slopes) but also the Italian sector (north facing slopes). If you do decide to head to La Thuile, you’ll have access to more challenging runs.
La Rosiere Winter Activities
Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate skier or snowboarder, the pistes of La Rosiere are suitable for everyone. This resort also offers fun events, tours and a great range of winter activities. For convenience, a lift is only ever a short stroll away or you can make the most of the free ski bus.
If you need to ease any aches and pains after a day on the slopes, you can find massage services and spa centres in this resort, offering anything from neck and shoulder massages to relaxing facials. Other entertainment facilities include bowling, a cinema and the kids club – Les Galopins.
When staying in La Rosiere, you can also eat out at any of the restaurants or travel a couple of miles to La Thuile for a delicious Italian lunch (last ski lift leaves La Thuile at 15:00). It’s worth mentioning that there isn’t much lively nightlife in La Rosiere, making it ideal for individuals, groups and families looking for a quieter ski escape.
Some of our favourite Winter Activities in this fabulous resort are:
- Snow Kiting
- Speed Riding
- Snow Cross Track
- Nordic Walking
- Snowman making competitions
Childcare La Rosiere
If you’re travelling with children and would like to enjoy some time to yourself, there are some excellent childcare options in La Rosiere. The team at Les Galopins kids’ village (in the centre of La Rosiere) can take care of toddlers between the age of 18 months and 3 years old, as well as entertain children between 4 and 12 years old. Your children can be looked after on a half day or full day care basis, both of which can include meals.
We also recommend Alpine Childcare because they match your family with the right nanny and you only have to pay for the exact hours you’d like to book.
